Recently it was descided that me and my girlfriend could use some spice of life. Those pacts you make to go dancing try something new...be exotic..you know the bucketlist in a relationship that keeps you from somehow being your parents :) So here two little small town love bugs go hopin off to the city for some adventure and sindhus found its mark. Not really ever having indian food before we descided on some Atypical mango and sweet lassis and a dinner for two. There were some odd faces...some giggles from my trying to translate our order. This food was amazing!

If your main focus is ambiance, don't go there. It is actually a good place to eat in Lansing area. I am an Indian and know what tastes really good. For Lansing, I would give it 4 stars because of lack of other good places in the area to eat. The buffet is okay, not really astonishing however that is a large volume produce. But the a la carte for dinners is really flavorful, however, not the best that I have had. But kudos to customer service, very attentive and kind.

Buffet is good and rightly priced. Sambar is very tasty and has desi tinge in it. Restaurant is worth your money.

Good flavor. Chicken Tikka Masala is a must and the Chicken Vindaloo is very good. We've eaten here several times and it used to be our favorite Indian restaurant in the Lansing area. Atmosphere is drab and climate is usually uncomfortable with little use of AC during the summer months. Wait staff is efficient but not personable.

Get the naan. Seriously, get all the naan. I tried Sindhu for the first time a couple days ago, and it was so, so delicious. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, butter naan, and the lamb-stuffed naan. Everything was wonderful - flavorful and well-cooked. I paid about $18 for everything, but it was enough for at least 3 full meals. The one downfall of this place is its appearance. I got my food to go, but the dining room was pretty dismal. It was totally empty at dinner time except for myself and two others waiting for to-go orders. It was also dark and a bit run-down.

Oh my sweet, sweet, delicious Sindhu. Sindhu is the second best Indian restaurant I have EVER been to. The only reason it is second is because it is pretty filthy. The food is out of control delicious. Food always comes out fresh and piping hot with delicious flavors and spices. The mint chutney is the best I've ever had. The chicken tika masala is the best I have ever had. The naan is buttery and delicious. The buffet is by far the best I have ever had. I freaking love Sindhu and I go every time I am home even if its just the weekend I'll squeeze it in somehow! The only reason Sindhu hasn't recieved 5 stars from me is the filth. This place needs a serious overhaul and deep clean in the dining area. While this will scare some people away, get over it. YOU WILL NOT REGRET EATING THIS FOOD! i promise :)

Indian food is one of my favorite foods and I must say this place does a very good job overall. It is simple and has a great selection. I recommend going during the weekend buffet due to the fact that the selection is wider. Try the Indian beer. It goes down smooth!!!

The buffet is really nice at lunchtime. Many choices especially for vegetarians. Food is mildly spiced, there are many assortments of things to try. Excellent bread-Naans. Service is spotty. So is the carpeting. Wish they would clean up the place. They could make the atmosphere so much nicer.

Staff was weird but the food was delicious. You know how sometimes when you order garlic naan and then get sad because can't even taste the garlic and you're just like why did i pay extra for this? Not the case here! The garlic tasted fresh and it was amazing. Chicken Korma was smooth and creamy and the mutter paneer had peas that popped when you bit into them. Yummm

I really miss going to Sindhu's for their lunch buffet and then heading back to work smelling like Indian spices. Working across the street from the Hannah Plaza always gave us a good excuse to go out to eat. In conversations about where to eat, Sindhu's was always an option (for lunch or dinner) because it never left us disappointed. The lunch buffet at Sindhu's has a decent number of options, though I wish they had more! For those that have had authentic Indian cuisine, I would say that the food at Sindhu's was not at spicy as you would expect. However, it cannot be denied that the food was always delicious. Mint chutney, peas and potatoes, samosas and their delicious naan... I can keep going on and on. They had all the good stuff! In my experience, Sindhu's has never had a bad day. Every time I went, the food was always mouth-wateringly good. And this is coming from someone who truly does not remember how many times she went to Sindhu's! I agree that the service is more relaxed when compared to other places; however, that did not keep me away. I simply love this place!

The best indian buffet in town. Don't you dare miss it chicken tikka masala and their chickens are great. If you wanna order a food, try their "butter chicken".

Been coming here since my freshman year in college and now that I'm a senior, it's going to be tough not coming here anymore. Everytime I have come here, it's been for a Friday lunch buffet. Even though price of lunch buffet has gone up a few bucks since 2011, it is definitely worth the 9.50. Fridays have malai kofta, chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, navaratnam korma, pakoras, lemon and white rice, chana masala, and a few others. Best selection I believe since I hear they rotate their buffet menu the other days of the week. It's smaller than one would expect and right around 12 to 12:15 is when it's get most packed. My recommendation for someone coming for the first time is to try a little of everything and don't worry about food getting mixed up because Indian food tastes even better that way. Cheers!

My first time here was hot. We went at lunch and had the lunch buffet. It was so hot in there about 15-20 minutes being there it started to cool off. The lunch Buffet had different options, I felt like there could have been more. There was too much salad stuff. I want a wide selection of Indian food. The goat was so tender, so delicious. Can't forget about the fresh naan, so good. I would like to go back and order off the menu.

Came for dinner with husband, and about 5 other tables were seated. First thing, don't come here for a sit down meal, if you're starving or in a hurry. Service was friendly but food took forever to come out. We ordered a samosa chaat for an appetizer and that should've come out in 5-10minutes. We waited nearly half an hour. It's simply 1 samosa with all the chutneys on it. It was also chopped to pieces, which is not how I've ever had it. That made it mushy all over rather than crispy. Oh well, it was still very tasty but next time I'd order it plain or with the chutney on the side. For entrees hubs had the Dal Makhani extra hot. It was very tasty and thick, but they are serious about the heat. It was hot even for him and we're used to eating habaneros. It was a generous portion, so there was plenty to take home after. I had the Lamb Roganjosh hot. It was sooo good. The meat was lean and tender. The sauce was bold and flavorful. I would definitely order their lamb again. We also had the garlic naan. Flavored naan always sounds like a good idea, but it's never as great as you'd imagine. I would just order plain next time. The food is a little salty in general, but overall the flavors had depth so I'd return.

I was craving Indian food and was in the area, so I decided to give this a try! It was EXACTLY what I was craving. I ordered the butter chicken, and the butter naan. I'm a baby when it comes to spicy food, so I asked for mild, but they could make it spicier if requested. My friend who came with me ordered a lamb dish and asked for medium heat. After cleaning our plates we both agreed that our dishes were amazing. I've grown up eating Indian food and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will definitely be returning, probably more than I should. My only minor complaint is that you have to order your naan. Most of the other Indian food places I've been to have included it in with the meal. But it definitely won't stop me from coming back!

I had to give 1 rating coz it doesn't allow me to have it zero or negative. Really sorry to say that it was the worse buffet i ever had and its not an Indian food but just Indian dishes also the cook is a Nepali(confirmed with management) not An Indian. Not sure if the management has changed recently and how this has got such +ve ratings.. Sincere suggestion.. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

I've gone here a number of times and I have enjoyed it each time. My go-to meal here is vegetable samosas, butter chicken, and butter naan. Friends of mine have gotten the chicken vindaloo, chicken pakora, lamb saag, lamb vindaloo, and aloo gobi and they have enjoyed them as well. They will make them as mild or as spicy as you want. My complaint is that the service is very hit and miss. The service has always been friendly, but do not come here if you want a fast sit-down meal. When the restaurant is busy, SOMETIMES you will wait forever: for food, for water, for your server to take your order, for your food to come. If there is not a lot of people inside, the service does improve. I just wish the service would be consistent.

Now, I haven't experienced any other Indian cuisine in Lansing/East Lansing yet but I have to say this was place was GREAT and I was definitely impressed. I had the Lamb Biryani and it was VERY good- cucumber sauce is amazing with the lamb and at medium spice it was perfect. If you like spice medium is more in the mild side, FYI.

  • Matt R.

Well, I am gonna venture a guess that nobody comes here for the atmosphere... But the food is a great. I guess if you have to choose, good food would be a better quality in a restaurant! Great flavors, portions are decent, and they work with you on tailoring how spicy you want everything. All dishes can be made mild, normal, normal plus, hot, screaming hot, nuclear waste hot, ... Well you get the picture. Worth a try if you want to be adventurous and try some great ethnic food!

Wasn't impressed with the food, maybe it's because I've ate at Swagath so much.. the food was greasy, when we lifted our plate there was a yellow circle... Swagath on Trowbridge is 100% better!!! The workers here didn't say a word.

Sindhu's the best Indian Restaurant I've encountered in Lansing. The ambiance is pretty boring (think American diner) but the food is very good and reasonably priced. They have a small beer and liquor selection. We always order the Samosa's and the Malai Kofta (which is fantastic). I'm also a pretty big fan of their lamb vindaloo. And the Naan bread is made on site and tastes great. I make a point to go often.

I went back to Sindhu recently and I just found out that it's the chicken they make there. My friends ordered some curries with chicken and it was just like how I had it before, dry and tasteless. However, I ordered Lamb Madras and it was really good! The meat was so tender. I also tried samosas and they were good. We also tried the vegetable biryani and it was just okay; definitely not the best that I've had. If you want Indian food in the Lansing area, I would recommend Persis Indian Grill in Okemos.

Sindu has a delicious lunch buffet, especially on the weekends. For $11, you can get your standard tikki masala, tandoori chicken, and my favorite,-goat curry! It was so yummy! With the chutneys, rice, and salad, the meal is a perfect way to start the weekend.

I am not sure what part of the restaurant is "Indian". Front staff to the kitchen staff I don't see a single Brown soul. Oh wait! the statue of Lord Shiva and the restaurant name is for sure Indian. Food is meh! I guess it's common in Michigan area. The chai was good. Naan was like a cardboard, no flavor. This is like the P.F Chang of Indian Cuisine(wannabes) For the price, it's good but if you are looking for real Indian food, I don't know where to begin but I would look around for another place.

One type of food that my wife and I have been missing since moving here several months ago is Indian... until now. On a recommendation by a friend we went and checked out Sindhu. It definitely did not disappoint. Everything we had for dinner was excellent including a Kingfisher beer. The decor wasn't anything special, but I really didn't come here having high hopes or expectations for a fine dining experience - I just wanted great Indian food and that's what I got. We ordered the combo meal for two. Everything on it was delicious, but if I was to give any constructive criticism, I would point out 2 things. 1. I thought it was going to be more like a meal for 2 that we would share dishes and such, but it basically came out like the Indian version of a Japanese bento. It had a little tasters of everything which was fine but not what we expected. 2. I'm used to naan having a little bit more of a char from being cooked in a tandoori oven.. not a big deal, but it was just a little more dough-y than I'm used to. The one thing I realized after eating there is that the dishes on the combo dinner were not usually ones we would order, so it was really tough to make an apples to apples comparison so I went back the very next day to the lunch buffet and was able to try the Chicken Tikka Masala (a staple dish for us usually) and it was excellent. Sindhu will definitely become one of our go-to locations. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love Sindhu. It was my first Indian cuisine restaurant and Im glad it was. Their prices are fair, but still expensive. My only complaints about this place is that sometimes their staff is slow/forgets things, cleanliness is sometimes questioned, and their lunch buffet has an amazing goat curry that includes mostly bones :( Their Lamb Vindaloo is a must try, its my go-to every time!

  • CV C.

Oh, their goat~! And their lamb~! And their chicken~! And their rice~! You'd say I'm exaggerating about the rice, but I am so not. They season their rice, not just with salt, but with some spices that does wonders to it (no, I am not talking about biryani). They have a buffet over the weekends, which we have come to realize is our perdition... We love to seat at a booth and eat our fabulous meal while feeling the gazing eyes of the owner on us...! Anybody who has gone there would know what I am talking about. It's become part of the experience!

I must admit, I'm a bit of an Indian food snob. I worked at an amazing Indian restaurant and was spoiled with the absolute best I've ever had. I haven't had Indian food even close to it....until I ate at Sindhu. Their restaurant decor and atmosphere is a little lacking, but the food is solid. I recommend the samosas. The malai kofta was a bit weird (sausage shaped and too doughy, but tasty still). The lamb vindaloo was great, if not a bit too spicy. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu. Reasonably priced....$38 for two with tip (including two appetizers, two entreés).

This place was awesome! I had one of the lamb dishes (can't remember the name) and it was probably the best I've ever had. My only regret is wasting space on the naan, it was fine but wish I would have waited for the rice and lamb dish.

Wow! What a great experience! My girlfriend and I went here for our first taste of Indian. Man we sure weren't disappointed! We sure were overwhelmed at first, but the helpful waiter came to the rescue. He recommended meals for both my girlfriend (she keeps kosher so can't eat meat at restaurants) and me. I got the chicken takka masala and it was extraordinary! Man I sure do love Indian food now! My girlfriend also loved her veggie entre. We were also very pleased that there was a pitcher of water on the table for us. I HATE HATE HATE having to wait for my water to be refilled! It's the small things that matter, right? Overall, dining at Sindhu was a great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone. We are looking forward to trying the highly coveted lunch buffet!

I know this place is beloved in Lansing, but I just can't spread the warm, fuzzy feelings to Sindhu. I've had many more opportunities to eat Indian food since moving to Chicago (no offense to Lansing, but the culinary scenes are incomparable) and now this buffet just seems....ordinary. It was all fine, passable fare. But there was nothing that made me say "mmm," nothing I even *remember* eating, honestly. It's not memorable. Excellent: the food. Very Good: the service. Poor: sanitary conditions of dining area. Horrific: sanitary conditions of bathrooms. Please Sindhu, keep all of your restaurant clean so I can enjoy my food with some peace of mind (What's the kitchen looking like behind closed doors?). I may have to refrain from eating here until I feel safer about it. Consider this, dry and crusty food on the walls when they just opened for dinner at 5:30pm? A large shop-vac next to the toilet that looks like it hasn't been wiped down since it was purchased (years ago)? Excrement inside the toilet EVERY TIME I visit? I know it's Indian food we're talking about here, but please, it's a restaurant nonetheless. CLEAN UP YOUR ACT. Literally!

We got take-out from here the other night and it was quite good. When we lived in Hawaii we had this Indian restaurant that we will forever compare all Indian restaurants to. This wasn't as good as there, but it comes quite close. I got the Lamb Saag with medium heat. Very good, but not as hot as I was hoping. Tastes great over the rice and with the naan dipped in it. We got the garlic naan to go with out meal. They put parsley on top, which I don't like. That taste overpowers the garlic. Also be aware that the rice has cloves in it, make sure to take that out or avoid it. Does not taste good. Husband had the Lamb Vindaloo medium heat. He didn't realize that the curry is more of a tomato base (he doesn't like tomato based anything really). He liked it, but I liked it more than him. This had more spice than the Saag, which was the perfect amount for me. I look forward to having the leftovers tonight for my dinner. One day maybe we can go there for the buffet I keep hearing about.

Oh oh! Tasty and not so pricey, this place is definitely a winner. Order the pakoras as they may be the best I've had in a while. Korma and tikka masala was smooth, creamy and simply divine!!

My husband and I ate here for lunch recently. We're both leery of buffets because we always end up eating way more than we should/really want to, so we asked if we could see the regular menu. Our server somewhat reluctantly brought it and when we asked about something, he quickly said that is was only available for dinner. Well okay, we were really hungry so we just opted for the buffet. It was pretty good, although they kept running out of naan, which left us sitting at our table, creepily watching every person who came out of the kitchen to see if they were bringing more out. Good but nothing super special about this place, although it was packed while we were there, which is always makes for a nice atmosphere. We'll come back here, but not before we've tried all other restaurants that interest us first.

I know there are many in EL who will not be thrilled at this rating, but I can only go based on what I've encountered, right? Indian might be my favorite ethnicity of food and I've eaten at many, many Indian restaurants. Maybe I'm jaded, but I wasn't impressed. I was in town for business and decided to grab a quick lunch. I went in for the buffet. There was a decent variety of items, but none really stood out. The biryani was average at best. The tandoori was dry and bland. the bread was burned. The rice had something bitter in it and the deep fried items were overly greasy. Even though it often isn't Indian food typically feels healthy Not in this case. The cleanliness issues mentioned in some of the reviews were evident as well. For all of my frustrations, the staff was reasonably friendly and the prices were reasonably. The food was adequate, just not good. I don't hate the fact that I ate here, I just wouldn't look forward to going back.

OK, maybe I went there on a bad night, but I was not very impressed with Sindhu. I get to eat in Indian restaurants all over the US an Canada and this is, at least for this visit, below average in both food and especially service. While the food was edible and I ate every bit of it, it was nothing special. The service, while friendly, was disorganized at best. I ordered a beer, a poppadom(you had to buy it here-most give them for free-and it was not very good) and appetizer and an entree. I sat for about ten minutes with nothing and then finally my appetizer came. I asked for my beer and poppadom, and they arrived about five minutes later. Maybe it was because I was really hungry, but this seemed too long and a bit out of order. Most places, Indian or otherwise, will bring you your drink right away, along with some bread or, in this case, the poppadom. I finished my appetizer and the entree came shortly thereafter-the only problem was that it was not what I ordered. In the interest of time, I kept it. The next time someone came by my table was to bring me the check. Too bad, I would have ordered a roti or nann. Anyway, next time I'm in the area, I'll try someplace else.

Wasn't impressed with the food, maybe it's because I've ate at Swagath so much.. the food was greasy, when we lifted our plate there was a yellow circle... Swagath on Trowbridge is 100% better!!! The workers here didn't say a word.

I've been going to Sindhu for two years now, and I can't believe I haven't yelped until now! I think it's the best Indian restaurant in the East Lansing/Lansing area. I go most frequently for the $9 lunch buffet. I'm vegetarian, and I think they always have great veg options in their line. They typically have pakoras and every dish has a ton of flavor. You will waddle out of there after lunch. I've also visited several times for dinner, and have never been disappointed. I discovered their thali options on the back of the menu recently, and have ordered the vegetarian thali everytime since then. It's a giant sampler platter filled with smaller portions of: 2 types of soups, 2 veg entrees, 1 samosa, 1 raita, 1 bowl of basmati rice, mint/tamarind chutneys, 1 whole naan, and 1 dessert. I'm a huge fan of options and trying a variety of dishes, so this option is perfect for me. It's $12.50, which is only $2 more than a regular veg entree, and I think there's definitely more food. I always get two meals out of it. Try this. There's also a non-veg thali, which my bf gets, and he loves it as well. I think it's a few more dollars than the veg one. The service has also always been good. The waiters often come around to ask if we need anything, and we always ask for more chutney or rice. They leave a flask of ice water at your table as well, which is nice. In summary, if you like Indian food, definitely go to Sindhu! If you haven't tried Indian food yet, definitely go to Sindhu!

Solid. Good-every-single-time-you-go-Indian food. We did NOT go here enough during our time in EL and I regret that. They have SPICY curry and rich coconut milk lentil and chicken dishes as well as all the classics. It is Indian comfort food at its best. Surprisingly and consistently delicious food.

I can only offer Sindhu three stars because of the poor appearance inside. The food is pretty good (for Michigan) and the lunch buffet is your standard Indian buffet. However, take a look at the cabinetry and the interior of the place. There are smudges and stains all over, and the cabinetry has the dirt/grime of several years making it look terrible. Personally, when I visit a restaurant I want to see it clean. If they aren't cleaning the buffet cabinetry, and thats the area you CAN see, what are they not cleaning in the back? If your main concern is decent indian food, then this place will make you happy. The naan could use some work.

One of the things that will always bring me to a restaurant is when they offer something I won't possibly make myself, and Indian fare is something I very much enjoy eating, but will probably never get around to preparing. Sindhu is not the best Indian place I've ever been to, but it's certainly quite good. The spices are wonderful, and even the aroma of the place gets your mouth watering. Tandoori chicken, vindaloo, masala, all very good. You can sample them all during the buffet, which is really how you should eat this food anyway. Why restrict yourself to one dish when you can have eight? I always get the mango lassi to drink, in case I get overwhelmed with spice. The combination of yogurt and citrus really calms you down when your nerves are under attack from the hot spicy food. We were able to get 7 in comfortably on a Thursday for lunch, but the place is jumping with MSU faculty and students around that time.

Very good food and service. Great prices. Bland atmosphere. I've only had the buffet, and from what I have had, I think the food is very good. I've ate at several Indian restaurants throughout the country and Sindhu can hold its own. I found the buffet to not have as many offerings as many others, but it was very well stocked and the food seemed to be freshly made. The overall atmosphere is rather bland (strip mall, etc.) but that is not of primary importance to me. Service was great. Pricing ($9 for the lunch buffet) is great.

Yay, curries that are actually somewhat spicy even for the lunch buffet. The food here is quite delicious and it's also quite affordable for an Indian restaurant. It's also awesome that they give you a pitcher of water on your table. What a great idea! I hate having to wait for the server to fill up my glass every time. I've always appreciated the little things in a restaurant. My only complaint is that the food takes a while to come out especially when they are busy. I wasn't the only person who noticed as well. It would be nice if they offered complimentary appetizers or something while we wait.

I can't help but crack a smile when I read some of these reviews for Sindhus. My friends uncle used to own this joint, and I haven't ventured back since then. Still, a good number of people will tell me how good their food is. I guess I'm a bit spoiled in that sense. A good number of my friends came from an Indian background, so whenever I eat at an Indian joint, I compare it to their mom's cooking. Sadly, this is probably one of the better places (outside of a home cooked meal) to get Indian food. Their buffet is alright. It has a decent selection of Indian food. To me the flavor just isn't there. I imagine they subdue a lot of the flavor for American taste buds. On the real though, you could do worse. If you have a craving for Indian, drive out to Ann Arbor (or Garden City if you can make the drive) for some great Indian food. If you can't, I suppose this will do in a pinch.

This is an awesome spot. For a $9 buffet, it is a family run buffet place with pretty decent restaurant Indian food. Frequented by MSU students/faculty/staff, there are plenty of Indians there to attest to its quality of food. Probably a bit more rich in butter and oil than I would make at home like any restaurant, but definitely not bad in quality or different from what you would get in India. What makes this place special - if you are South Indian, they have dosas, idlis, sambar and other southern specialties which are very rare among Indian restaurants that cook the North Indian bread based foods Westerners tend to prefer. I adjust my ratings to the price, so even if you go out of the buffet hours, prices are fair and service about what you'd expect. You won't get Ritz style people waiting at your feet or a chandelier hanging from the roof, but the staff is very warm and welcoming. Plus they have Kingfisher beer!

After reading some of the previous reviews, I wasn't expecting much about the environment. But when I walked in, it wasn't bad at all, maybe because we got there early, the place was clean and the lunch buffet was fresh. I tried a little of everything and liked everything. The variety is not as impressive as some of the other Indian buffets I've had, but they have the basics and they all taste great! I find many Indian restaurants in the US very salty and greasy, Sindhu's is just right.

Good Restaurant with ethnic ambiance. The food is very flavorful and their buffet is very economical for good quality food. My favorite beverage is the Mango Lassi, its a thick mango shake with raspberry syrup on it. Even their chicken tandoori and chicken makhani is one of the best I have tasted. It's definitely a hit!

I have the virtue of having Indian friends willing to cook with and for me, so I can be a tough critic (well, at least for a small town American :)). Sindhu has really great food. The spices may not be as strong as home cooked meals, but they still have most of the flavor you're looking for. The veggie samosas are fabulous. I was expecting greasy, generic tasting puff pastry. I was very surprised at how light and flavorful they were. The dipping sauces were also very fresh tasting. I have not had a chance to partake in the lunch buffet they have, but would be very happy to do so. It's a decent place with reasonable food and liberal portions. A very delicious deal for the money, yay!

This may be biased by the fact that it's the first Indian food I ever had, but Sindhu is great. I love their naan and the lamb curry is possibly one of the best things I've ever tasted. I just wish it wasn't so far away from my house.

I was nervous about Sindhu: it's a little Indian joint in a mini mall in a college town. The decor is sparse and the service is remarkably bad. (No, really: it's horrible. A few totally disinterested young ladies, almost certainly the daughters of the owner -- only their parents would have refused to fire them.) But the food is really quite good. All the typical fare you'd expect in an Indian restaurant: masalas and vindaloos, naan and lassi, all very well made and flavorful. Plus several days a week, they offer a Southern Indian menu.

It was here that I discovered that I love Indian food, so Sindhu has a special place in my heart as well as my tummy. Na'an is amazing, as are all of the dishes. Anything with lamb in it from here makes me melt, and though it's pricey it's well worth the price. And quite conducive to sharing, which is a huge plus in my book.

Okay, I'm so happy to be able to say that I've found my "go to" Indian place since moving from California! This place is amazing, my hubby took me for the first time last night and absolutely loved both the chicken korma and lamb vindaloo! And when we said we wanted spicy, they truly did bring on the heat. The garlic naan bread was okay (could've used a little more garlic in my opinion) but the basmati was very ample! I felt like the service was fast and attentive. More importantly, the place was packed for a Saturday night (which is always a great sign)!

This place was awesome! I had one of the lamb dishes (can't remember the name) and it was probably the best I've ever had. My only regret is wasting space on the naan, it was fine but wish I would have waited for the rice and lamb dish.

Punjabi Remix!!!! I love Indian food, and Sindhu has a great daily lunch buffet for about $8. All you can eat! It's only available M-F, I think, so perfect for that midday-I'm starving-my-arse-off meal. The only downside to it is that if you have to go back to work in the afternoon, you had better come prepared with the Febreze in the back seat. Like I said, I love Indian, but I swear you will go back to work, fumigating your office with the scent of curry coming from your pores...well worth it though. This is.....the remix!

Fantastic Indian food! The buffet had a great mix of vegetables, curries, meats, rice and breads. We went to the buffet on a Saturday and it cost around $9 a person. Seems to have a steady stream of traffic, but the service was a bit lacking. I think they were a bit surprised that we didn't just get up and help ourselves to the buffet; after ordering drinks, we didn't see anyone until we got the bill. But this was quite forgivable, what with the great food for a good deal.

Sunday Brunch buffet was great! Take it from someone's who's indian-it's pretty good! The food was fresh and everything tasted great. Since it's a buffet on Sunday, I would suggest getting there early (12pm) if you want the fresh dosas.

Sindhu's has great food, but it's not perfect. You can order most dishes as mild, medium, or hot - beware that they're serious when they say "hot." The lunch buffet is limited, but tasty. The dining area is a little claustrophobic, but nice. The prices are a bit much - expect to spend about $20 per person and not to have any leftovers. I called once to make a reservation for a large group for a day that I expected to be very busy. I called back on the day of to confirm the reservation and was told that, not only do they not have a reservation book, but they weren't even going to be open at the time I made my reservation...

Very busy for a Thursday evening. No kids menu but I called ahead to see if I could bring in food for my nephew. They said that they didn't mind. The food was very good. Medium spicy, for me, was not spicy at all. I didn't get hot because I wanted my mom to be able to enjoy some of my meal. Overall, the chicken korma and curry chicken were both very good. Give them a try!

Cheers!

Great chicken tikka masala. I have ctm at least once a month and this is the best I've had in a really long time.

I'd only eat here if I was just dying for Indian flavors but was willing to settle for some pretty mediocre food. In fairness, my dining companion enjoyed the buffet more than I did. But he was really hungry and was also craving Indian food for days beforehand.

  • Jenny G.

But this was quite forgivable, what with the great food for a good deal.

got an order of samosa & chicken vindaloo to go. the lady who took my order wasn't very inviting.. as if she was insulted that i was there. if the food cost $5, i would say it was pretty mediocre but for $15, i was expecting a lot more. the samosa was too doughy & the vindaloo was more sour than spicy. i wouldn't waste the trip...

Sunday Brunch buffet was great! Take it from someone's who's indian-it's pretty good! The food was fresh and everything tasted great. Since it's a buffet on Sunday, I would suggest getting there early (12pm) if you want the fresh dosas.

The food was just ok; I had a hard time eating because I could not get over how filthy the restaurant was; the table had plexi glass over a dirty used , use to be white, table cloth; ceiling tiles were so black with dirt I expected something to drop into my food; the carpet looked like it had NEVER been cleaned as the bathroom looked that way also; there was a paper sign as you entered the restaurant that had old food flung on it; even the poor gold fish aquarium was a cesspool. I really think the health department should take a look. GO ELSEWHERE.

Two-stars for the lunch buffet, which is inconsistent. Five-stars when ordering off the menu.
